Ram Setu box office: Akshay Kumar’s film earns more than ₹26 crores in two days, records a drop in second-day collection

Akshay Kumar starrer Ram Setu earned more than 15.25 crores on the first day becoming the second-best opener for a Hindi original film in 2022 this year, after Brahmastra. Fans were waiting for a long time to see Ram Setu which was finally released on 25 October. It also stars Jacqueline Fernandez, Satya Dev, Pravesh Rana, Nasser, and Nushrrat Bharuccha.

After a great push due to the Diwali holiday, ‘Ram Setu’ slowed down on Day 2 and earned only 11.40 crores. Makers had expected ‘Ram Setu’ would do more business on the second day than the first day however the collection had a minor dip. The movie collection still stayed in double digits.


Ram Setu has become Akshay’s best opening film this year after his movies Bachan Paandey, Samrat Prithviraj and Raksha Bandhan did not do well at the box office. Akshay’s last film Cuttputlli had an OTT release.

Akshay Kumar’s action-adventure film Ram Setu is directed by Abhishek Sharma. After cinemas, this film will be streamed on Amazon Prime. Nushrat Bharucha is seen opposite Akshay Kumar for the first time in the film.

Akshay Kumar is seen in the role of Aryan Kulshrestha who is an archaeologist in the film, while Bollywood actress Nushrat Bharucha is playing Aryan’s wife Gayatri. Jacqueline Fernandez is in the role of an environmentalist who joins Dr. Aryan in his expedition of Ram Setu. The story of the film is based on the bridge of ‘Ram Setu’ in which Akshay Kumar is tasked with proving whether Ram Setu is a man-made structure or not.

In an interview, Akshay Kumar stated that Ram Setu is rooted in Indian history and there are a lot of unknown facts about it. Ram Setu’s team has done deep research to represent several unknown facts about the bridge.

After ‘Ram Setu’, Akshay has ‘Selfiee’, ‘OMG: Oh My God 2’, ‘Gorkha’ ‘Capsule Gill’, ‘Bade Miyan Chote Miyan’ and ‘Soorarai Pottru’ remake in the pipeline. Akshay Kumar is also gearing up for his OTT debut with a web series titled ‘The End’.
